📚 How to Calculate Bricks for Construction?
Step-by-Step Process:
1. First, determine your plot/land area (Length × Width)
2. Plan your wall layout - add all walls with their lengths, heights, and thickness
3. Add all windows with their dimensions and assign to specific walls
4. Add all doors/gates with their dimensions and assign to specific walls
5. Calculator automatically subtracts openings from respective walls
6. Calculate brickwork volume = Net wall area × Wall thickness
7. Calculate number of bricks = Brickwork volume ÷ Volume of one brick (with mortar)
8. Add 5-10% wastage for breakage and cutting
9. Calculate mortar volume (30% of brickwork volume) for cement and sand

How do I calculate bricks for a boundary wall?
For a boundary wall, measure the perimeter of your plot (2 × (Length + Width)) as the wall length. Then use our calculator to add a single wall with that length, desired height, and thickness. Don't forget to add gates as openings.
How do window and door deductions work?
Our calculator automatically deducts window and door areas from the respective walls you assign them to. You can assign openings to specific walls or to "All Walls". The net wall area is calculated as: Gross Wall Area - Total Openings Area on that wall.
What is the standard mortar mix ratio?
For general brickwork, 1:4 (cement:sand) is standard. For load-bearing walls, use 1:3. For partition walls, 1:6 is acceptable. Our calculator uses 1:4 for accurate material estimation.
